Advo Who’s Who: Payroll Manager, Caroline Jackson

In our continuing series who are Advo’s people? this month our Payroll Manager, Caroline Jackson talks about her career path and Advo journey.

“A long time ago, before mobile phones and laptops everywhere. I left university and started my career.

My first role was with a large accountancy firm in London, but after a couple of years I was introduced to payroll for the first time. That experience marked the beginning of a career path that I have thoroughly enjoyed ever since.

I then joined a financial institution in London as part of the Payroll team and stayed for 20 years, taking on a variety of roles along the way, including Pensions Manager and later Head of UK Payroll. One of the biggest highlights during my time there was leading the UK implementation of a new global payroll system. It was a huge challenge, but one I really enjoyed being part of.

Once my second son started school, I decided it was time to find something a little closer to home. I joined a Leisure Trust as Payroll and Pensions Manager and became part of the Senior Management Team, contributing to wider company strategy as well as managing payroll and pensions.

Three years ago, I joined Advo, first supporting the then manager, then looking after the Southern team of advisers before being appointed to run all things payroll here at Advo, and honestly, I can’t imagine wanting to leave such a fantastic team.

Outside of work, I enjoy pottering around in the garden and spending time with family and friends. Good company with plenty of laughs is hard to beat”
