Nic Draycott is another of Advo’s impressive career journeys. Starting in an admin support role, quickly moving to managing admin teams, now Operation Manager overseeing much of Advo’s day-to-day logistics. Nic summarises her journey in her own words.
I joined Advo in 2013 in an administration support role, working with a team of Employee Benefits Consultants and learning the ins and outs of the insurance services we brokered for our clients. As my experience grew, I progressed into a senior position and in 2015 joined the management team where I began leading a team of Employee Benefits administrators.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to manage several different administration teams, supporting colleagues at all stages of their careers, from those just starting out to more experienced team members, designing induction and training programs and guides, alongside the day to day management of running a busy team. One of the most enjoyable parts of this role was always the privilege of working with such talented team members, developing their skills and confidence and supporting them in achieving their career goals.
More recently, with Advo’s change in focus, an exciting opportunity came up for me to move into the position of Operations Manager. I now play a central role in keeping our day to day operations running smoothly supporting both our clients and our internal teams. My role is varied, spanning several key areas of the business, many of which I’ve not been involved in before.
On the client side, I manage finance related queries including overseeing monthly billing as well as working closely with Alison to stay on top of fee and contract reviews. Internally, I work alongside Jenni and Colin M to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for our new Advonians, from arranging system access to supporting induction and compliance training. I also look after the management of our employee benefits helping to ensure that they remain relevant so that we can get the most from them.
I think it’s fair to say that no two days are the same and I’m enjoying working alongside some wonderful colleagues and I’m really looking forward to being part of what comes next for Advo and helping our teams continue to grow and succeed.
